Posted By: Todd Town |Posted In: 1st Alarm Commercial Fire Protection Alarm Systems , commercial fire alarm systems

The National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code put out by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) states the provisions for installing a commercial fire alarm system. This code does not state when a fire or detection system is required, however; that job is part of the NFPA Life Safety Code. The NFPA Life Safety Code states when you are required to install commercial fire alarm systems  or fire detection systems. This code not only specifies when you have to install one of these systems, it also specifies which criteria the alarm must operate under. Smoke Detector Requirements The NFPA Life Safety Code states if your smoke detector is only used for an elevator recall or your heat detectors are only in place to shutdown an elevators power then they are not required to activate your buildings commercial fire alarm system. These same detectors do not need to activate the alarm system if their sole purpose is to close or shut down dampers on the HVAC. Another instance where your detectors are not required to activate commercial fire alarm systems is when they are used for closing automatic doors. While under these situations the detectors are not required to activate the […]

A Video Surveillance System Will Make You, Your Family And Your Home More Secure In Amarillo Texas

Posted By: Todd Town |Posted In: 1st Alarm Amarillo Home Security Systems , video surveillance systems

Only about 17% of American homes have home security systems. It is a small number that makes a big difference because those homeowners that do are far less likely to become victims of break-ins or home invasions. When it comes to protecting your Amarillo TX family, your possessions, and your property, monitored home security systems that include a video surveillance system are silent sentinels that provide 24/7/365 protection against threats on both sides of the door. Safety is always a time sensitive proposition. A monitored video surveillance system significantly reduces the response time of emergency responders. When an alarm or sensor is triggered, live personnel can quickly assess the threat and determine whether police, fire, or EMTs are required and dispatch the assistance required to neutralize the threat. Whether it is putting out a fire that is smoldering in the garage or an intruder who is rapidly rummaging through your coin collection, seconds count and monitored systems shave minutes off the typical response time. Smart home security systems that include a video surveillance system also give you the ability to monitor who comes and who goes from your Amarillo TX home. This makes it possible for you to check up […]
